SCHWINDEL (2019)
SCHWINDEL, or, We Will Never Reach Such Vertiginous Heights is the third instalment of the series Fourteen, Auxiliary, contemporary video artworks that take on saint mythologies to address salient issues. This two-channel video work—built around the story of Saint Christopher—centres around history and historicities, inspired by Susan Sontag's Regarding the Pain of Others and Frantz Fanon's Les damnés de la terre. The video was produced during a residency at betOnest in Stolpe/Oder in 2017, and has been presented in projection form in the context of a solo show at MoMAPS311, at the Papier art fair (2019) at the Pangée booth in sculpture form, and at the 2020 betOnfest. Previous works in the series include HEURTMAS (2016), and CORPUS SANCTI (2013); The Blessing of the Throats is currently in post-production. For work and exhibition information, visit the Info page.
